University of Michigan Under Investigation for Animal Cruelty

The University of Michigan is part of a growing list of universities that have failed to comply with minimal requirements to protect animal research subjects. An investigation was sparked after the accidental strangulation of a baboon and the deaths of a guinea pig and hamster. This case is another example that helps highlight the need for transparency and oversight of animal research at universities.
